Howdy!
Here is my first amazingly brilliant blog post. I hope you will enjoy it.
Last night my husband Mr. Cricket and I watched the new Indy movie, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. I did not see it in the theaters, so this was my first exposure to it.
Well....
Maybe my hopes were just too high, or maybe it is hard to capture that Indy magic every time. I thought it wasn't really a necessary movie. The first three (well, at least Raiders and Last Crusade) were really pitch perfect, and made a nice collection. This one felt a little forced, and I hate to say it... Harrison is too old to do these! I just felt like Indy wasn't that strong character that we all love. And seeing Marion (Karen Allen) also made me a little sad. The plot was a little weird, and in the extra features, even Spielberg says he didn't really get it.
Sometimes it is better to just leave it be. And the not so subtle hints that Shia LaBeouf will take over the series also made me kind of tired. Please, let it go.
Ok, that was my first post, suitable for framing and gift giving. Enjoy.
